I've been working with metal clay now for a bit less than 2 weeks, and I'm very happy with the results - I'm getting some pieces that are better than what I was getting after working with the metal/resin mixture for months - and it's easier to work with!
I've tried a commercial metal clay mixture, but I seem to be having just as much luck with a home-made metal/clay mixture made with bronze powder and xanthan gum - and I just received some methyl cellulose today, which apparently works better than xanthan gum. I've got my first pieces made with that drying right now. Hopefully I'll have more good results to show soon!!
